Yogurt, Walnut & Honey Bowl

September 28, 2026

This is the snack I come back to when I want something that feels indulgent but is actually doing something useful. The yoghurt is creamy and cool, the walnuts add crunch and a slight bitterness that balances the honey, and the honey ties everything together. Three ingredients, two minutes, and it looks like you made an effort.

The key is the yoghurt. It has to be whole milk — the fat is what makes it work. Low-fat yoghurt is thin and slightly sour and the honey just sits on top of it. Whole milk yoghurt is thick enough to hold the walnuts and rich enough to carry the honey all the way through.

The recipe, step by step

What you'll need

  • ½ cup probiotic whole milk yoghurt (100g)
  • 2 handfuls walnuts, semi-crushed (approx. 20g — press them gently in your palm, you want pieces, not dust)
  • 3 teaspoons raw honey
  • 1 teaspoon raw bee pollen — to sprinkle on top

How to make it

  1. 1

Spoon the yoghurt into a bowl.

  2. 2

Crush the walnuts gently in your palm — you want rough pieces with some texture, not a fine crumble. Scatter them over the yoghurt.

  3. 3

Drizzle the honey over the top in slow circles. Serve immediately.

Why it works

  • Probiotic yoghurt: Whole milk probiotic yoghurt feeds the gut microbiome with live cultures while delivering calcium, protein, and fat-soluble vitamins. The fat slows digestion and keeps you full — this is not a light snack, it is a genuinely sustaining one.
  • Walnuts: One of the best plant sources of omega-3 fatty acids. Walnuts also contain polyphenols that support brain health and reduce inflammation. Two handfuls is a meaningful amount — enough to make a real difference, not just a garnish.
  • Raw honey: Raw honey retains enzymes, antioxidants, and trace minerals that are destroyed by heat processing. Three teaspoons adds natural sweetness without the empty calories of refined sugar, and the flavour is noticeably better.
