The Daily Smoothie — Celery & Carrot Twist

September 2, 2026

This is the Daily Smoothie with a Carrot Twist: carrot and celery bring a naturally sweet, earthy freshness, while a small pinch of Himalayan salt is blended in to brighten the citrus and round out the flavor.

There is no salted rim here — just a smooth, colorful blend finished with a lemon wedge and a half stem of celery. It is breakfast that feels thoughtful without slowing down your morning.

What you'll need

  • 1 lemon — peeled and seeded, outer peel reserved
  • 1 medium carrot — scrubbed and roughly chopped
  • 1 lime — peeled and seeded
  • 1 generous handful fresh spinach
  • 1 cup freshly pressed orange juice
  • A small piece fresh ginger, or ground ginger to taste
  • A pinch of chili flakes
  • 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
  • Honey, to taste
  • 1 stem celery — roughly chopped
  • A small pinch of Natierra Himalania Fine Ground Himalayan Pink Salt — blended into the smoothie
  • Ice, to taste
  • To garnish: 1 lemon wedge and ½ stem celery per glass

How to make it

  1. 1

Clean the lemon, carrot, lime, spinach, celery, and ginger with the PurePod Produce Cleaner. Peel and seed the lemon and lime, then set the outer lemon peel aside to add to the blender.

  2. 2

Add the peeled lemon, lemon peel, carrot, lime, spinach, orange juice, fresh ginger or ground ginger, chili flakes, olive oil, honey, celery, a small pinch of Himalayan salt, and ice to the blender.

  3. 3

Blend until smooth, bright, and icy cold. Taste and adjust honey if you like it a little sweeter.

  4. 4

Pour into glasses and garnish each one with a lemon wedge and a half stem of celery.

  5. 5

    Serve immediately and enjoy.

Ingredient benefits

  • Lemon and lime: These citrus fruits are rich in vitamin C, an antioxidant that supports normal immune function, collagen formation, and the absorption of iron from plant foods. Their bright acidity also makes the smoothie taste fresh without relying on added sugar.
  • Carrot: Carrots are rich in beta-carotene, which the body converts to vitamin A to support normal vision, immune function, and skin health. They also bring fiber and a naturally sweet flavor to the blend.
  • Celery: Often called a “superfood,” celery is a low-calorie, water-rich vegetable with fiber, vitamin K, folate, potassium, and antioxidant plant compounds. Its water and fiber support a satisfying, produce-forward diet, while its potassium contributes to normal fluid balance in the body.
  • Spinach: Spinach provides vitamin K for normal bone health and blood clotting, folate for normal cell function, and antioxidants such as lutein and beta-carotene. It is an easy way to add nutrient-dense leafy greens to the day.
  • Orange juice: Orange juice adds vitamin C and folate, along with naturally occurring citrus antioxidants. It also brings a naturally sweet flavor that balances the greens and ginger.
  • Ginger: Ginger contains bioactive compounds called gingerols and shogaols. These compounds have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, and ginger is widely used to support digestion and help ease occasional nausea. Its warming flavor gives the smoothie an energizing finish.
  • Crushed chili pepper: Chili pepper contains capsaicin, the compound behind its heat. Capsaicin has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties and may support a healthy metabolism as part of an overall balanced diet. Use only as much as feels comfortable for your palate.
  • Extra-virgin olive oil: Extra-virgin olive oil supplies heart-healthy monounsaturated fats and antioxidant polyphenols. The fat also helps the body absorb fat-soluble nutrients, including carotenoids and vitamin K, from the leafy greens.
  • Honey: Honey provides natural sweetness along with small amounts of antioxidants and plant compounds. It is still an added sugar, so a modest amount keeps the smoothie balanced while softening the citrus and spice.
  • Himalayan salt: A small pinch of salt adds sodium, an electrolyte involved in normal fluid balance and nerve and muscle function. It also heightens the citrus flavors; keeping the amount light helps maintain a balanced recipe.

Together, these ingredients make a refreshing, nourishing smoothie that is a flavorful part of a balanced healthy diet.
